Star Wars The Old Republic: 5 Reasons Why You Should Play SWTOR

    1. Firstly, it’s free to play. So there’s no excuse not to try it.

    2. Excellent story! Every storyline is well thought out and exciting, plus there’s one for each class. In theory, you can play many characters and get to see through their individual storyline – giving you hundreds of hours of gameplay. Being fully voiced, the stories all feel a lot more tangible.

    3. Light Side & Dark Side. BioWare [https://www.bioware.com/en/] are known for giving you choices in your dialogue and actions. These reflect on you and you gain dark side or light side points; this can affect your companion relationships, story choices, and even what equipment you can use. During Flashpoints (story-based group instances) you can also get the choice of a light side or dark side actions, for example choosing to take someone’s life or sparing them.

    4. Companions. The companion system in this feels very involved and sets it apart from other MMO’s. You gather multiple companions along your journey; different races and personalities. Some can be romantic interests. Some are healers, some are heavy damage dealers. My personal favorites are, as always, the droid companions – there’s quite a few between the various characters you can play as and they have their own personalities.

    5. Combat. It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s satisfying. Depending on whether you are playing as a lightsaber user, force user, or ranged as a Trooper, you can customize your skill tree to suit you and there’s a plethora of attacks. On my Sith Warrior, one of my favorite skills is Ravage which unleashes a powerful continuous lightsaber attack.

These are just a few of the fantastic things about the game, there’s a lot more great content, and the developers are continuing to work on the game, including events, and soon, more story.

Hope you enjoy the game and maybe I’ll see you in a galaxy far, far away!
