We’ve been careful not to say ‘we told you so’ but last year for April 1st we announced that Episodes 7, 8 and 9 were finally being made and as well all now know, we were spot on. This was supposed to be announced at Celebration VI last August but what we didn’t know at the time, was that Disney was involved and were in deep discussions to buy Lucasfilm. October 30th 2012 will be a day Star Wars fans will never forget. So, how do we top that for April 1st 2013…
Three weeks ago we were the first site to break the news that The Clone Wars had ended as a TV series and that some unaired episodes would probably be released as extras on the Season 5 Blu-ray/DVD releases.
Last year everybody thought we were mad with our announcement of the forthcoming films, but we knew better and all our hopes were answered with the official announcement on 30th October. So, this year, for April 1st, we’d like to tell you that… The Clone Wars have been saved! OK maybe this is a stretch, an April Fool too far, perhaps just a dream but going by our past performance, and as Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true – if we have the courage to pursue them”.
On April 1st 2013 we give over our ‘normal fun story’ to salute The Clone Wars and the fantatsic team of talented people that brought this amazing series to life. At the helm is fan favourite Dave Filoni and we want to say a huge thank you to everybody involved for an awesome film, five amazing series and six years of being able to get to know you all at conventions around the world. Here’s to many more adventures and opportunities to see you all and share in the events of The Clone Wars. It might be over as an ongoing TV series but there’s still a large group of fans that want more, whether it be as direct to Blu-ray/DVD releases, in novels or comics – or even all three!
