According to an update from Darth Hater, The Old Republic could perhaps see the famous Wookiee Life Day in the game. Star Wars fans will recall Life Day as being the Wookiee holiday which took place once every 3 years, and then recurred yearly. Life Day is a celebration of life itself, and also a time to remember loved ones who have passed. Over at Darth Hater they have compiled items seen on the Public Test Server, some of which included Wookiee Life Day items, suggesting that we may be seeing the Life Day event within the game perhaps during the festive season. The items include a Life Day Orb, Life Day Holiday Holo-Tree, Life Day Vestments, Life Day Lower Robe and Life Day Boots. Wookiee Life Day was first seen in the Star Wars Holiday Special, in which Chewbacca’s family share gifts and enjoy a spectacular feast. This film was disliked by George Lucas, as many fans will be aware, and was only shown once on TV. Life Day also made an appearance in the game Star Wars Galaxies in 2003, whose servers were closed down before Star Wars: The Old Republic launched. In the game, the holiday was around during the festive season and it encouraged the players to share and receive gifts, they were given two gifts by the developers; one to keep and one to share with a friend. Decorations were seen around the environments within the game and quests were completed to earn tokens which allowed you to buy festive decorations for your own house and other player gear. An event has not been confirmed at this point, but it would certainly be interesting to see if BioWare do have a Life Day event, and what that content may include!
