The Vintage Rebellion #129: Raiders of the Kenner Arks

We’re bringing out the big guns in this months feature interview, as Rich talks to super-collectors Ron Salvatore and Chris Fawcett about the early days of collecting Star Wars, and their pioneering work uncovering lost Kenner treasures.

In the intro section, the lads look back on San Diego Comic Con – did it deliver on Star Wars content, or is Disney holding back for D23?  There’s a quick canter through our new acquisitions, and Action Country Face-Off takes in India, Poland, Denmark and Ireland.  Spoons gets quizzical with questions on our past guests, and in New Acquisitions, the team picks their favourite finds from the collecting world, including comic bounty hunters, a McDonalds holograph, an empty crisp packet, Wonder Woman and the droids on record, and an X-wing with a rather special instruction sheet.

In Rebel Briefings the boys discuss a handy auction result, a new Kenner book, a special Speeder Bike box, the Falcon on Concorde, recording rare records, future Retro, and AT-AT batteries.  Licensee this month is Thomas Forman, a British company with a long history in publishing, and a short chapter in Star Wars calendar production.

Join us for copious Star Wars chat, with plenty of laughs and banter along the way. Look out for the podcast in all the usual places.
