Andor Showrunner Tony Gilroy Reveals Call with George Lucas After Rogue One Release

Tony Gilroy, the creator/writer of the Disney+ Andor series, has revealed a 45-minute conversation with George Lucas after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released, stating “It was like a call from the president”.

“George Lucas called me after Rogue, I had a 45-minute conversation with him after he saw Rogue, and that’s the only time I’ve ever spoken to him. He loved it. He really did. He had a lot of things to say that I… It was like a call from the president,” Gilroy shared.

The revelation came as part of a new interview with Deadline’s Pete Hammond for the video series Behind the Lens, taped prior to the beginning of the current writer’s strike.
