When Lucasfilm officially announced the home media release date for director Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi (March 13 and 27 in the US, April 9 in the UK), the announcement did not contain any information on a Walmart exclusive Blu-ray release for the film. An exclusive Blu-ray from Walmart was widely assumed, but Lucasfilm made no mention of it in their update.
Well, according to Blu-ray.com, Walmart will in fact be offering an exclusive Blu-ray release for Episode VIII – one that comes in collectible packaging with six interchangeable covers featuring the same artwork used on the character posters that were revealed during last summer’s D23 Expo.
This exclusive Blu-ray edition is not currently listed on Walmart’s website (at least not of the time of this posting). We’ll be sure to update this story with more information/details (including a higher resolution image of the photo above) as we see it.
