Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu was released on Blu-ray and 4K UHD in the USA on August 25th and has remained on top of the Blu-ray only and mixed media charts for the second week in a row, despite a strong showing by the re-release of 28 Days Later.
This week [second week of release], Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu had an HD share of 63% and 29% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to again make it the week’s top 4K UHD release.
Coming in second place on the Blu-ray-only and 4K UHD charts is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s 28 Days Later. Danny Boyle’s high-quality, low-resolution film about a rage virus infecting Britain was originally released on Blu-ray by 20th Century Fox back in 2007. Now under Sony, their 4K UHD release sports a new 4K master with Dolby Vision HDR (approved by Danny Boyle) and the choice of a new Dolby Atmos remix or original DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio options, as well as legacy extras. This week, 28 Days Later sold 43% as many Blu-ray units as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 100% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Remaining in third place in its fourth week is Alliance Entertainment’s Project Hail Mary. The adaptation of Andy Weir’s novel of the same name opened in March 2026 to critical acclaim and financial success, topping the box office for its first two weeks en route to over $344 million domestically and over $685 million globally. This week, Project Hail Mary sold 42% as many Blu-ray units as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, with an HD share of 64% and 24% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD is released in the UK and Europe on September 28th, with the 4K Ultra HD Beskar Collector’s Edition arriving on October 5th.
