Via the official site, we have learned that Hasbro’s new crowd-funding initiative HasLab revealed during Toy Fair NY is now available for fans residing in Canada who wish to back the development and release of Jabba’s Sail Barge.
The article (written by Kristen Baver) features words by Hasbro Star Wars lead designer Steve Evans and director of Global Brand Strategy and Marketing Joe Ninivaggi as well as images of the Khetanna that were previously released by Hasbro’s PR team.
No word yet if HasLab will be made available to fans in Europe, but fingers tightly crossed that becomes a reality in the very near future.
Check out the intro to the StarWars.com piece below and then head on over to their site for the full read. And if you are interested in becoming an official Khetanna backer, visit the HasLab website right here to make your $499.99 pledge before the April 3 deadline.
For 35 years, fans have been clamoring for their own piece of Star Wars extravagance and sophistication: a Hasbro recreation of Jabba’s sail barge, the Khetanna, which the notorious crime lord used to cruise across the Dune Sea. With the launch of HasLab, an innovative new platform bringing big ideas and niche products to life, fans across the United States — and, StarWars.com can exclusively reveal, in Canada, too! — may soon be able to sail away with their own massive 4-foot-long, highly detailed recreation from the toy brand’s comprehensive 3.75-inch scale Vintage Collection. The never-before-produced vehicle has been on the wish lists of fans and toy designers alike for decades, says Hasbro’s director of Global Brand Strategy and Marketing Joe Ninivaggi.
