Huge congratulations to Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino who was nominated for seven MTV Video Awards and walked away with three at last night’s ceremony. The song This is America won three awards for ‘Video with a Message’, ‘Best Direction’ and ‘Best Choreography’.
Glover, who played the young Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story, told those in attendance that he plans to retire the Childish Gambino stage name, that he’s used for almost a decade, at the end of the year. “I like endings,” Glover explained backstage to reporters. “I think they are important to progress.”
