900 tickets were snapped up by eager Scottish fans wanting to watch The Force Awakens again on the big screen as The Luna Cinema open air screening at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh on Friday night was sold out.
Fans picked where they wanted to sit as they waited for the sun to go down and the film to begin. It was a really nice family friendly atmosphere. We could bring our own food and drink and have a picnic.
Sponsored by Hilton Double Tree, there was a chance to watch the movie from this comfy bed complete with a stocked mini bar. One lucky winner was chosen after posting a selfie on Instagram or Twitter and tagging the sponsors.
I made do with my Star Wars inflatable chair and fleece blanket to keep me warm. Before it began we got a little reminder that The Force Awakens is the most successful film ever (in North America).
It was a nice dry night and not too cold in Edinburgh. We were lucky!
If people didn’t bring their own food and drink they could purchase them there. The Botanic Garden Edinburgh was a lovely picturesque venue and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for future events.
The Force Awakens will be shown again at Warwick Castle on September 8th, Hylands House Essex September 13th, Cardiff Castle September 18th and Lincoln Castle September 23rd.
A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will be shown at Hatfield House from September 29th to October 1st.
