Celebration Orlando 2017 started off with a monumental bang with a special panel titled “40 Years of Star Wars” and boy was it something to behold. From memories to some surprise guests, here’s a quick recap of what went down during this historic panel.
– After an opening intro by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, host Warwick Davis was joined on stage at various points by George Lucas, Dave Filoni, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Mark Hamill, and…Harrison Ford! Yes, THAT Harrison Ford!
– They recounted their time working on the saga films and told assorted stories and then departed the stage together.
– George Lucas was then joined on stage by Kathleen Kennedy as they remembered the late great Carrie Fisher.
– Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd came on stage to a loud round of applause and spoke briefly about her mother.
– A touching Fisher tribute video was shown (video embedded below).
– Legendary John Williams (!!!) was in attendance with full orchestra performing pieces from his iconic Star Wars score.
