Last February, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy shared her thoughts on retirement, stating she would never stop making movies, however she did say that she was discussing her eventual succession, and Puck News has said that an announcement is now imminent.
Always two there are… keeping true to Star Wars lore, Puck News is suggesting that Kathleen Kennedy will be replaced with two co-presidents. Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm’s Chief Creative Officer, and Lynwen Brennan, President & General Manager of Lucasfilm businesses including Lucasfilm, ILM, and Skywalker Sound, will work together, with Filoni acting as the creative voice of the company whilst Brennan will focus on the day-to-day running of the business.
This arrangement would make a lot of sense and is likely work well, allowing Filoni to focus on what he does best, with the company being kept in safe hands from a business point of view with Brennan.
Although this does sounds credible, until we get an official announcement take this with a large pinch of salt.
