Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was the hugely successful first entry in the Star Wars anthology series. Aside from stellar acting and a gripping storyline, it fixed a few glaring plot holes in the original Star Wars trilogy.
It also introduced brand new characters into the mix – a motley crew that managed to steal the Death Star plans that kicked off the events of the very first Star Wars movie, A New Hope.
So who are these brave heroes that managed to do just that? In sports betting parlance like that in sbobet, here’s your Rogue One starting lineup:
Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones)
Jyn Erso is the main protagonist of the film. The Rebel Alliance rescued her from the Empire in the hopes that she can help them make contact with Saw Gerrera, a militant who has information regarding the Death Star.
An independent young woman, she was only in it for herself her whole life. Only when she discovered that her father, Death Star designer Galen Erso, was helping the Rebel Alliance all along, did she finally choose her side.
Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna)
Cassian is a Rebel offer and spy, who was responsible for freeing Jyn Erso from an Imperial prison at the beginning of the film. He has since then joined her throughout the film, discovering the Death Star plans and hatching up a plan to steal them on the Imperial planet of Scarif.
Ruthless and cunning, Cassian has shown he will go to extreme lengths to fulfill his mission and the Rebel Alliance’s goals. He doesn’t hesitate to kill if it means it will lead to the greater good. However, he develops some conscience later on, when he disobeyed orders to assassinate Galen Erso at Jyn’s request.
Chirrut Imwe (played by Donnie Yen)
Chirrut is a member of the Guardian of the Whills, a religious order dedicated to protecting the Jedi temples and Kyber crystals in the moon Jedha. When the Galactic Empire destroyed the temples, however, guardians like Chirrut had nothing left to protect, so they proceeded to disrupt and resist Imperial rule.
Chirrut is a devout believer of the Force, even though he isn’t a Jedi himself. He shows this by continually reciting the prayer, “I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me.” He is a formidable fighter capable of using the complicated lightbow bowcaster, despite being blind.
Baze Malbus (played by Jiang Wen)
Baze is also a member of the Guardian of the Whills and is the constant companion of Chirrut Imwe. Despite being part of the religious order, he is having doubts about the Force. Nevertheless, his fierce loyalty to his friend is what drives him to go with him wherever he is.
Baze’s weapon of choice is the repeater cannon, fearsome at both sniping and close combat.
K2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk)
K2SO is a former Imperial droid, reprogrammed to join the Rebel Alliance’s cause. Frank and blunt, K2SO shows little care or remorse for his teammates. This changes as the story progresses, however, culminating in his self-sacrifice for the mission to succeed.
