VFX Supervisor Mohen Leo is the fifteenth guest confirmed as attending Thank the Maker, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, at St Swithun’s School in Winchester, Hampshire on October 17th, 2026.
Mohen joins previously announced guests including ILM visual effects professional Claudio Bassi, electronic design and development supervisor Matt Denton, visual effects supervisor Marcus Dryden, vice president of visual effects at Lucasfilm TJ Falls, comic artist Duncan Fegredo, Andor’s lead graphic designer Barry Gingell, editor Col Goudie, Andor’s season 2 graphic designer Tereza Hudkova, senior animatronics designer Josh Lee, Andor’s visual effects supervisor Scott Pritchard, graphics designer Dominic Sikking, Lucasfilm’s vice president of physical production Adam Teeuw, hand props and weapons painter Rut Villamagna and property master Jamie Wilkinson.
A veteran of Industrial Light & Magic, Mohen’s incredible career spans almost three decades of groundbreaking visual effects, with credits including Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, The Martian, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Vader Immortal.
His extensive film credits include Poseidon, Speed Racer, 2012, Ant-Man, The Martian, Deepwater Horizon and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For Rogue One, Leo shared the Overall Visual Effects Supervisor role alongside John Knoll, overseeing the production and execution of the film’s extraordinarily complex visual effects work. The production featured over 1,850 visual effects shots and earned Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for Best Visual Effects.
His journey with Rogue One continued when he reunited with Tony Gilroy for Andor, serving as Production Visual Effects Supervisor across both Seasons 1 and 2. His work on Season 2 was recognised with both an Emmy Award and BAFTA for Outstanding Special Visual Effects.
From Rogue One to Andor, Mohen has played a significant role in defining the grounded, cinematic visual language of modern Star Wars.
