Following on from yesterday’s news of Dave Filoni’s new position of Executive Creative Director at Lucasfilm, the company has confirmed that this promotion actually took place quietly last summer and they didn’t update their website until very recently.
Last summer, Lucasfilm quietly promoted the executive producer and frequent writer and director of “The Mandalorian” to executive creative director for the entire studio, a rep confirms with Variety. But the company didn’t update its website with Filoni’s new title until this week, which is when it began to percolate, and then explode, across Reddit and Twitter, as if the promotion had just happened.
Yesterday’s news also led to Ming-Na Wen and Katee Sackoff tweeting their congratulations to Fioni, so we weren’t the only ones who didn’t know! Again, we take this opportunity to wish Dave Filoni congratulations on the promotion and we will be watching his progress with great interest!
