Disney Continue Search for New CEO to Succeed Bob Iger

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the board of the Walt Disney Company is considering outsiders to succeed Bob Iger, including Andrew Wilson, the CEO of gaming company Electronic Arts.

Candidates from inside Disney are said to include Alan Bergman (Co-chairman of Disney Entertainment), Josh D’Amaro (Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products), Jimmy Pitaro (Chairman of ESPN and Sports Content) and Dana Walden (Co-chairman of Disney Entertainment).

Iger’s contract ends in 2026 and we expect an announcement on his replacement early in that year. The search for his successor is being led by James Gorman, former Morgan Stanley CEO and the incoming chairman of the Walt Disney Company board.

We’ll be watching this closely as we get closer to 2026.
