The first teaser trailer has dropped for HBO limited series Scenes from a Marriage, starring Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain who last worked together playing a couple in 2015’s A Most Violent Year.
In this TV drama, Isaac and Chastain play a couple very much in crisis, and their crumbling relationship that has been carefully hidden behind closed doors is forced to navigate affairs, a divorce and new relationships, all while raising their young daughter.
The trailer sees Isaac’s character singing to his young daughter at night, but also shows him kicking a table, after what can be assumed as being another argument with his wife.
The series is based on the critically-acclaimed 1973 TV drama written and directed by Ingmar Bergman – which earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
This new adaptation has been written and directed by Golden Globe winner Hagai Levi, who co-created and produced Showtime’s The Affair.
The show will debut in the USA on HBO in September, and no UK date has been set.
