Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: Joelle’s Spoiler Free Review

Rogue One has just been previewed in the UK by the press and I saw it with everyone on Tuesday. Something is going on here and I don’t know what it is, but I was completely taken by surprise, as Rogue One was nothing like the energy in the trailers, it’s better! Have the trailers played it down? Yes they have! Lucasfilm has been playing this film down in the trailers BIG TIME! Cheeky! Talk about not wanting to reveal anything, this is exactly what they’ve done and I’m so glad. Soon it will be your turn to share the excitement and the many surprises that are contained in this extraordinary film.

I can’t tell you about the plot, I can’t tell you about the characters, I can’t tell you about anything! After all the lengths Lucasfilm has gone to, to hide the details I saw in the film, I’m not about to blow it all for you and reveal Rogue One’s deepest darkest secrets. There are many!

You will have to see it more than once to take it all in, but I knew you were going to do that anyway… but just as a quick reminder, I’m seeing it again on Friday for another hit of the Star Wars universe in full throttle. Everyone thinks they know the plot, but it’s better than that, what am I talking about? You’ll have to find out for yourself, but get ready as there is a lot going on. The film is fast paced, emotionally charged and delivers, it’s gripping, intense and keeps you inside the film from start to finish. If I was to say anything at all, it would be that the film gets better and better the further along you go.

Have your popcorn ready, make yourself comfy and also have a drink on hand as your jaw is going to be dropped for so long, your mouth will go as dry as Tatooine. My jaw was dropped for at least 20 minutes at a time, until I needed a much deserved drink. Fortunately, I was able to steal someone’s lemonade next to me.

So, to conclude, ignore the trailers, get yourself into launch position and get ready to see a film that you thought you knew something about, but really until you see it, you know nothing of the power of the force of Rogue One!
