A Star Wars fan filmmaker has accused Disney of stealing his work in The Bandits of Golak, part of the second season of Star Wars: Visions, comparing a fight from his 2019 fan film Dark Jedi to a scene in the episode that seems to use his choreography and camera angles.

“When Disney blatantly steals your action design,” reads the caption on the Instagram post, comparing Hideyoshi’s own Dark Jedi short, released in December 2019 on YouTube, with 2023’s The Bandits of Golak.
Lorenz Hideyoshi continues, “I mean they already had a different weapons setup, but still managed to brute force (push) my choreo onto that action. Didn’t even change the camera angles.”
He then goes on to ask “Why Disney? Is it because we made a non-profit tribute fan film of one of your IPs and now you feel justified in stealing from this pool of creative output? Maybe either a) pay your animators more or b) hire an action designer.”
