Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – A Design Case Study by ILM

To celebrate the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker almost a year ago, ILM have created a design case study looking at the planet of Exegol and the designs of the Sith lair.
During the production of The Rise of Skywalker, a looming sark world emerged from the pages of the script, a world where Emperor Palpatine would concoct his ultimate rise to power and where the last battle for freedom of the galaxy would take place. As the barren wastelands and Sith structures manifested themselves info images, Exegol was finally born.
Shrouded in mystery, the world of Exegol was to be the last bastion of the Sith. Little was known of the once forgotten planet and the ILM Art Department had the opportunity to develop the dark vsion.
