As promised, ILMxLAB released today details via Entertainment Weekly about their new virtual reality experience Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge. The narrative of the game plays out as such: you are a droid repair technician for a cargo ship that crashes on the planet Batuu and continues with your actions resulting in pursuit by the Guavian Death Gang first seen in The Force Awakens. Actress Debra Wilson plays a space pirate character named Tara Rashin, a leader of one of the gang’s cells (Wilson also portrayed the character Cere Junda in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game).
Bobby Moynihan, who voiced Orka in the animated TV series Star Wars Resistance, plays a character named Seezelslak, a six-eyed bartender from one of Black Spire Outpost’s cantinas.
According to senior producer Alyssa Finley, players can actually die in the game set after the events of The Last Jedi (the game will feature multiple difficulty levels). Head on over to EW for more on Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge including a look at a few pieces of concept art and be sure to check out the reveal video embedded below. The game is slated to be released sometime later this year (an official release date has yet to be announced).
