Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson and CFO Blake Jorgensen touched on the the topic of new Star Wars games that are coming down the line during their recent Q3 2018 earnings call. Of interesting note are the comments Jorgensen made when speaking about the new game slated to be released by developer Respawn. Jorgensen said while nothing is official at this time, Respawn’s Star Wars title could land sometime during the fiscal year 2020, which is identified as the period of time between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.
During the same call, Jorgensen also said that EA has not yet finalized a release date/time frame for Star Wars Battlefront III.
Respawn was included as one of the developers in EA’s “Star Wars: A Look Ahead” preview video that was shown during the E3 gaming expo back in 2016. Later on that year, developer Vince Zampella spoke about pitching his idea for a new third-person shooter to Electronic Arts.
