It’s the third day of December and time to open the door of the 2021 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (#75307), as well as Harry Potter (#76390) and Marvel The Avengers (#76196) too!
This is the eleventh year of the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar and for the first time we get a single themed calendar based around the Disney+ show The Mandalorian.
Following two days of vehicles, day 3 brings us our first minifigure of a Stormtrooper. There are no weapons included suggesting a potential return to weapon racks on future days. You can never have enough Stormtroopers so this is a welcome inclusion.
As an added bonus, for the third year running we delve into the Harry Potter advent calendar which this year explores Harry’s journey from his aunt’s house to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as seen in the first book/film the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Following on from the Harry Potter minifigure, we continue Harry’s journey to Hogwarts with a brick built chimney, made form 19 pieces with 1 spare, awaiting delivery of some letters telling him about his place at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The chimney features a sloped back that allows letters to be sent flying out, reminiscent to what’s seen on screen. There are also clips on either side suggesting other accessories too, perhaps we will get some of these behind tomorrows door.
There is another…. following the success of the Star Wars and Harry Potter Advent Calendars, LEGO have introduced a Marvel The Avengers Advent Calendar for the first time.
Following yesterday’s disappointing power blast elements, today we get a mini build inspired by Iron Man’s Hall of Armour, albeit with a holiday theme featuring a wreath held in place on a light-blue trans bar. The build consists of 14 pieces (with 1 spare) and features clips on both sides, suggesting we may get other builds later in the calendar that connect to this.
