The Synopsis:
Aphra’s father has led her straight into danger – of course. Her business on Yavin 4 concluded, Aphra journeys off…in search of one of the most powerful weapons imaginable!
The Plot:
To catch up with the series so far, go here….
We start this issue back on Yavin 4, the Imperials that are hunting Aphra and her company realise that the havoc being wreaked by Krrstantan the black Wookie bounty hunter is a distraction, to allow our heroes of the story to escape.
The female cybernetic Imperial, Captain Tolvan spots a light reflecting off a glass object on the side of the great temple in the distance.
As it turns out the reflection was emanating from one of Aphras’ dads’ scientific measuring devices.
Having realised that they could have been noticed the group of Aphra, her dad and the two psycho droids, Bee-Tee the Astromech & Triple Zero the protocol droid decide to retreat into the temple, unfortunately they run into an Imperial Officer and a couple of Stormtroopers, but Aphra stops them in their tracks by giving the officer a swift kick to the jaw and he falls down the stairs they were climbing onto the 2 troopers. To assist in their escape Bee-Tee launches some grenades to slow down their pursuers or kill them.
After fleeing through the ancient Temple and finally finding an exit the team are faced with an giant AT-AT looming over them. From the side cargo bay door Captain Tolvan orders her team to open fire, when suddenly Krrstantan turns up in Aphras’ ship just in the nick of time and the group make a quick escape whilst evading the blasts from the AT-AT’s laser cannons.
On the ship Aphras father gives her the map to ‘The Citadel of Rur’ where the ‘Ordu’ Jedi are thought to be based, they are hoping their quest is nearly at an end and Aphras’ dads knowledge of the religion will be satisfied. Aphra is also hoping there are some very ancient expensive artifacts that she can sell to help pay off her debts.
They drop out of Hyperspace and are confronted with an ancient looking citadel sat on what looks like half an hollowed out asteroid.
The group depart the ship wearing cold weather jackets and ear muffs only to find the skeletons of what appear to be slain Jedi.
To be Continued……..
The Review:
Although this is still a good story arc, and flows nicely this feels like kind of a filler issue on the way to the end of the quest.
The best stand out moment is when the Astromech Bee-Tee turns into a sled during the temple escape panels, enabling Triple-Zero, the protocol droid to jump on as protocol droids aren’t built for sprinting as Bee-Tee points out.
As ive said before the art is fantastic throughout! Personally this is some of the best art i’ve seen, the cover art for each issue has been brilliant and very eye catching.
