We’ve known for quite some time now that Rogue One will lead viewers basically right up the events that we see play out on screen in Episode IV. As part of the promotional tour for his highly anticipated standalone film, director Gareth Edwards was recently in France where he took part in an interview in which he answered several questions pertaining to the film. Edwards confirmed (what we already knew) that Rogue One does not have an opening crawl, but he was a bit coy when the subject of Leia and R2-D2 making an appearance in the film was brought up by answering those character-related questions with “I don’t want to ruin it for people”.
Take it for what you will until we all get to find out for sure what the deal is in just a few weeks…
