Over at The Metro I take a look at the two newly revealed vehicles set to appear in The Last Jedi – the First Order Dreadnought and the AT-M6 – and look at what effect they could possibly have on the story.
In terms of technological advancements, both vessels were designed by Lucasfilm to be the next evolutionary steps in ranges of vessels that reach back to the waning days of the Republic.
The new vehicles massive size indicate the First Orders intentions to spread fear throughout the galaxy.
At this point, with a fleet and army smaller than that of the Galactic Empire at its height, they will need to box clever, choose their targets and inflict maximum damage.
That way, word of their existence will spread swiftly throughout the galaxy, a galaxy used to the trauma of war and conflict.
