Ewan McGregor Attending Two Fundraising Events at Pitlochry Festival Theatre

Ewan McGregor and Sam Heughan are set to take part in two fundraising events at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, joining fellow actor Alan Cumming for the ‘in conversation’ evenings in the Highland Perthshire town on July 26th and 29th.

The events will mark the 75th anniversary of the venue, which has welcomed Ian McKellen, Graham Norton and Jackie Kay in recent months.

The first evening will take place on July 26, when Outlander star Heughan will reflect on his journey from his Scottish background to acting success, as well as his passion for youth theatre.

Heughan is a patron of Youth Theatre Arts Scotland, and the Pitlochry Festival Theatre Youth Company will open the event with an extract from one of their recent performances.

Cumming will then host a conversation with Star Wars and Trainspotting star McGregor on July 29.

The Perth-born actor is expected to discuss behind-the-scenes stories, acting techniques and a career spanning three decades.

McGregor has described Cumming as an “old pal”.

He added: “I’m very excited to be taking the drive up to Pitlochry soon to have a chat with my old pal Alan Cumming.

“Alan and I have bumped into each other on and off screen, at film festivals and theatre foyers for the length of our careers.

“It’s going to be so fun to chat with him on stage at Pitlochry to raise funds for this wonderful theatre.”

Pitlochry Festival Theatre, a charity, aims to raise £500,000 by the end of the year, and wants to double its membership and patrons by the end of 2026.
