Brian Herring has taken to Twitter to tell us that he has completed his filming working BB-8 for director J.J. Abrams’ Episode IX. Is this the cinematic end of the ride for BB-8, we hope not!
This tweet comes on the heels of Anthony Daniels notifying his followers that his planned filming as C-3PO for Episode IX has concluded as well. We can expect to see more farewell posts like these on social media as the twin suns continue to set on principal photography.
Filming for the currently-untitled Episode IX kicked off back on August 1. Principal photography for the film is expected to last into February ahead of its December 20 release date.
Today was a wrap on BB-8. The last 5 years have been an amazing ride. Thanks to @jjabrams, Kathleen, Neal, #teamBB8 especially Dave and the entire cast & crew for the time of my life. Few people get to live the dream. Thank you. #StarWars #IX #puppeteer #BB8 #StarWarsEpisodeIX pic.twitter.com/Oxa8n1oHu2
