The Metro: What Disney’s New Direct-To-Consumer Streaming Service Means For ‘Star Wars’

My latest article over at The Metro looks at yesterday’s news that Disney are launching their own streaming service and what that might mean for Star Wars.

Disney announced on Tuesday that they intend to launch their own direct-to-consumer streaming service, bringing the masses of Disney properties that are currently living on Netflix and other streaming services into one Mouse-owned location.

Imagine, all of the Marvel live action series leaving their current home on Netflix and setting up shop in a Disney-specific service, making it the only place to watch the shows online.

While it’s not confirmed whether Marvel and Lucasfilm franchises will be affected by the change yet, it’s a game changer for sure – and one that could possibly have massive ramifications for the many fans of the galaxy far, far away.

Specifically, it relates to the Star Wars live action series.
