Actor Gwendoline Christie and director Rian Johnson have been working on a backstory to Christie’s armoured character, Captain Phasma.
With Phasma barely used to a fraction of her potential, The Last Jedi will hopefully correct that oversight and see the captain hit the heights that her appearance in The Force Awakens promised.
Speaking with IGN, Christie discussed her conversations with Johnson: ‘Rian and I did have long conversations about this character and who she was, and I was utterly delighted in how willing he was to listen to my ideas and really thrilled to exchange them with him and hear his.’
