It would appear that there was some confusion on the part of Blu-ray.com with their earlier product listings for The Force Awakens in terms of the number of discs that would be included in each release of the film. Last week their product listing showed 3 discs would be included in the regular (non-3D) release of Episode VII – two BD discs and one DVD. I just checked their website a few minutes ago and now the regular version is listed as a 2-disc set only (see screen capture below).
The 3-disc listing is now reserved on their site for the 3D Blu-ray release and the DisneyStore.com exclusive release.
So does this mean we will not be getting a dedicated BD disc containing bonus content as originally thought? At this point, I don’t know. Just give us the official announcement already…
