Tony Gilroy Reveals Andor Second Season Writers, Filming Date, and the Return to an Iconic Location

Tony Gilroy, the creator/writer of the Disney+ Andor series, has revealed the second season’s writers, when filming starts, and an iconic location that the show will visit as we get closer to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

In a new interview with Collider.com, Gilroy confirmed that production would begin the Monday before Thanksgiving, on November 21st.

He explained that he would be flying out to London to be there for the first shot of the season, before turning around and coming back home for the holiday.

In addition to sharing the trio of directors that will be tasked with directing the second season of Andor, Gilroy has also confirmed the show’s writers.

His brother Dan Gilroy and Beau Willimon would be returning to write the upcoming season, along with newcomer Tom Bissell, who is, accoridng to Gilroy, a “really cool and really, really interesting, versatile, really good writer. But also a very, very, very big Star Wars fan, which we really wanted to make sure we had another pro because we’re going into Rogue [One].”

And finally, we learn about a return to an iconic location — beware of spoilers ahead!

“We’re going to Yavin, and then we’re going into places where we eventually need to really weave our way back to the source. So Tom [Bissell] came in, and he’s been great. So he’s got some episodes too.”

Whilst we wait for the second season of Andor, watch the first nine episodes exclusively on Disney+ now.
