A New Hope as Permit Filed for Work on Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel

Disney announced at the end of last year that the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel would be opening at Walt Disney World in 2021, but that was before COVID-19 and work stopping on the experience in March.

Work has yet to resume on the Galactic Cruiser, but we have a new hope that it might be soon, with the news that a permit was filed today for “Project H – Installation of Show Elements” with an expiration of 1/29/2022.

A new permit was filed today for “Project H -Installation of Show Set Elements” with an expiration of 1/29/2022. (Thanks to @danlb_2000 for spotting the permit).

Of course, this does not indicate imminent start of work, and it isn’t clear on the timeline of when the permit was applied for.

The contractor is Themeworks, who has done previous work for Disney including Toy Story Mania.

Reservations for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser were scheduled to be opening later this year, but we do not know what effect the COVID-19 delay may have on that or the supposed 2021 opening.
