More Permits Filed for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel at Walt Disney World

With the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel being a priority for the Walt Disney Company, work continues at the site adjacent to Hollywood Studios with additional permits filed for set installation over the coming months.

A permit was recently filed with the state of Florida by Walt Disney Imagineering to install “set items” for the future resort hotel. The work will be carried out by InterAmerica Stage, Inc., whose work focuses on “stage rigging, stage machinery and specialty theatrical equipment.” The company has experience in the theme park and resort industries, as they’ve worked on projects for Universal Orlando and SeaWorld. Another set installation permit was filed for the project back in July.

Disney previously stated that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel would be opening at Walt Disney World in 2021, but that was before the global pandemic, and we do not know if this date has subsequently changed. We await further updates from Disney/Lucasfilm on when the hotel will open, and you can sign up to receive updates as new details are released about the project at starwarsgalacticstarcruiser.com.
